Write about a dream you remember.
For today’s daily prompt, our writing challenge for Bloganuary, I’d like to share a dream that I’ve remembered since I was a little girl.
Strangely enough I recalled it most recently while reading a book last year called Burnt Sugar by Avni Doshi which described or at least made me recall a scene that was so similar to my own experience in a dream.

I’ve kept a diary/journal on and off since I was a child. I wrote down all sorts of events, thoughts, feelings, and dreams that I couldn’t shake or ones that made a big impact on me.
I wrote this particular dream down at the time so today I decided to do some digging out of storage in order to complete this prompt and see how exactly the dream unfolded.
Many people tell me, “Wow you have such a good memory!” or “How can you remember things in such detail?” I think that is in part due to writing so many things down over the years.
Reading past entries as an adult takes me back to the ever-vivid memory of that time in full detail. Much of the dream I had in memory bank.
However reading this one from my Hello Kitty diary now is a bit creepy I must say.
It actually evokes a flood of memories from that time in my life.
Psychoanalyze away!

It reads:
“Dreams”
Date: June 1991
“There was a castle we built in the sand. But when, I found a strange coin, after that we saw this strange woman that was old.
So after we saw that woman, when we went to the castle it was knocked down, we saw the same woman again and she disappeared.
[Someone whose name shall be not be unrevealed] got sucked up by the sand. than I was holding a baby and we had to climb this fence to be saved, and I got tired of holding the baby and my mom said here let me hold the baby for the rest of your life and laughed.
We almost got bitten by _____.” (I can’t decipher my writing!).
Haha the mystery at the end!
