Easy Top Hat Holiday Centerpiece | Erica Robbin

Repurpose your damaged vinyl records with this easy centerpiece craft!

Here is a fun, easy, and inexpensive centerpiece that you can make for your Christmas and New Year’s holiday tables! The hat is made out of a repurposed vinyl record and a soup can.

Ingredients

    EASY TOP HAT HOLIDAY CENTERPIECE:
  • 1 vinyl record that is broken or scratched that you can repurpose, any size
  • 1 aluminum can, cleaned, label removed, any size
  • Craft glue that will adhere both plastic and aluminum surfaces
  • Indoor/outdoor paint (any desired colors)
  • 2″ paint brush
  • Clear glaze sealant (I like Krylon Triple-Thick Crystal Clear Glaze)
  • Raffia, ribbon, felt, fabric, fake snow, any decorations you like

Directions

    EASY TOP HAT HOLIDAY CENTERPIECE:
  1. Paint aluminum can with paint, allow to dry, and seal with a light coat of glaze.
  2. Assemble hat by gluing the vinyl record to the open end of an aluminum can.
  3. Add decorations as desired.
