Repurpose your damaged vinyl records with this easy centerpiece craft!

Here is a fun, easy, and inexpensive centerpiece that you can make for your Christmas and New Year’s holiday tables! The hat is made out of a repurposed vinyl record and a soup can.

  • 1 vinyl record that is broken or scratched that you can repurpose, any size
  • 1 aluminum can, cleaned, label removed, any size
  • Craft glue that will adhere both plastic and aluminum surfaces
  • Indoor/outdoor paint (any desired colors)
  • 2″ paint brush
  • Clear glaze sealant (I like Krylon Triple-Thick Crystal Clear Glaze)
  • Raffia, ribbon, felt, fabric, fake snow, any decorations you like

  1. Paint aluminum can with paint, allow to dry, and seal with a light coat of glaze.
  2. Assemble hat by gluing the vinyl record to the open end of an aluminum can.
  3. Add decorations as desired.

Let me know if you make this one!
