Happy New Year! What I’m Looking Forward to in 2023

Happy New Year, 2023!

2023. It’s hard to believe. Time goes by so fast. Of course I say that every year.

In recognizing how life feels so much different than a few years ago, 2022, also felt like a slog at the same time. A different outlook than in times past. There is still this lingering dread in the air. A lot is going on in the world.

But in staying inspired and optimistic this year, I’m continuing on last year’s journey which is a great place to be.

Creative endeavors and some time for refreshing fun.

Here are 9 things I would like to achieve this year.

1. Crafting

More crafting, specifically card making. Little card handbag purses are so fun to make!

I hope to reach my goal of creating a printable PDF and digital templates for the Cricut Maker. With Valentine’s Day and spring around the corner, be on the lookout for those soon!

2. Read Books I Already Own & on My TBR

You may recognize some of these books on my current shelf from times past. Patiently waiting to be read. It will take me a bit but I will get through them!

I set out to read more memoirs last year and enjoyed some really good ones. I read a total of 61 books.

Here is list of my Goodreads 2022 Reading Challenge achievements and top reads of 2022 below.

3. Save

I have travel ideas, baking and photography, forever home, and Hartley Greenhouse goals.

4. Get Stronger

Hiking is one of my favorite things to do. Similar to last year, I’d like to work on increasing my physical strength and endurance. Also in more ways than one.

5. Personal Writing Projects

6. Become a Master Gardener

Gardening and horticulture aficionado, here I come!

7. Revamp My Website

My website journey has come far. I started back in the days of Classic. Classic as in memorizing lines in HTML. With the updates we’ve had, HTML is already integrated so it’s super easy and a joy to incorporate all the neat features to organize, find flare and style, and showcase personality.

I’d like to thank each and everyone of you for your support. It’s been a great deal of fun and way of expression for me. The interaction in the community we have is incredibly special. This month will be 5 years that I’ve been writing. It’s been a joy and challenges like this help to inspire me and renew my soul as I write thoughts out and post my photography.

I’ve embarked on many makeovers of this website and always learn something new. This year I want to polish it up on the front and back end. Everything from converting the leftover errors from Classic to Gutenberg conversion, writing alt text, and reformatting a few things.

If you’re looking to create your own blog or website, I encourage you to do so! It’s fun and you can join us in our writing challenge. Check out WordPress for more.

8. Relaxing Entertainment

Nintendo games, movies, a fun girls night… I look forward to it all!

Montana Field, Trees, and Mountains
Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild coming May 12, 2023
John Wick: Chapter 4 coming March 24, 2023

9. Take a Road Trip!

I’d really like to take a fun, spontaneous road trip with family and friends this summer.

We also enjoy reading together. With audiobooks, we can do both!

Road Trip!

One of best ways to enjoy a road trip is with your best friends and a good audiobook.

I love listening along and always have one ready to go for spur of the moment adventures or even short destinations where I can read a chapter or two while en route to the market.

I purchase audiobooks through Libro.fm because it encourages more people to read while supporting local, independent bookstores.

Your blog is long, to full of info for my brain to digest it in time allotted. Really I would like your nifty post in smaller blogs. I wouldn’t drift into scanning instead of digesting. Thanks for visiting me. You’ll enjoy the nibble I dish out. 😀

Thank you! You’re so right! It is too long. I’m actually working on my footer right now and scrolling to the bottom to cross-check, it’s wearing me out. Tomorrow I hope to write just a kibble!
