My Childhood Dream Job

I wanted to be so many things when I was little!

The dream job of being a singer, an actress, a dancer, a model.

This day and age with social media, would have probably paved the road to make my dreams come true in some form or fashion like is popular with the youths more and more nowadays. Especially being outlandish and silly on camera. I’m actually very glad it wasn’t that way.

I had a little Casio keyboard and taught myself all sorts of songs I would sing to.

Entertaining the typical audience of Barbies and stuffed animals, I loved all the imaginative aspects of pretending I was some type of performer.

With glittered jellies, t-slide cinched shirt, and my pastel-colored Bangle Bop bangles, I’d step around my bedroom in Jazzercise fashion. Playing my Get in Shape, Girl music cassette tape, marching around and directing like Richard Simmons and Suzanne Somers.

I also remember a time I wanted to make a commercial for cough syrup after watching an I Love Lucy episode, where she films for a product called Vitameatavegamin. Taking food coloring and water, I made a little concoction and recited my lines.

“Are you unpopular? The answer to all your problems is in this little bottle!”

What a fun dream job!

How about you, what was your dream job as a child?
