How is it Halloween already?
This past year, though incredibly long at some points really did fly by. Looking back, it’s like the days have all just become melded together without much distinction.
It’s also hard to believe tomorrow is the start of November and that Thanksgiving is just around the corner.
Autumn is my favorite season and I love celebrating it with cozy mystery-thriller books and a warm drink. Wassail is one of my favorite beverages to make and this is a simplified version of it.
I enjoy this recipe with either a small or generous dollop of whipped cream (see recipe for Homemade Whipped Cream, you can whip the cream without any added sugar since apple ciders and juices can be so sweet. I then top it off with a drizzle of caramel sauce (see Lavender Caramel recipe, which you can easily make without any added lavender).
Makes for a sweet, relaxing, comforting drink. When some of the caramel sinks to the bottom, it finishes with a delicious treat. It looks festive and effortful, even though it’s actually really simple and easy to prepare.
